“Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in awhile you could miss it.” – Ferris Bueller. This quote holds a lot of truths. Especially in the world of streetwear. With Holiday ’14 from V/SUAL having just released, I thought it would be fun to share some images from this season’s capsule with Nicole Mejia. Shot on location at an awesome studio out in Miami, we made a day of it despite the humid weather. Pulling off multiple looks never concerned us since we were simply having fun. One thing that drew me to wanting to do a project with Nicole was not only her ability to model, but more so her drive when she isn’t modeling. Having grown her brand from local classes in Miami to nationwide tours is really something awesome to see. Best of all, she is doing it her way on her own. Showing people nothing is impossible both mentally and physically.

What’s up everyone. I hope you all have been well. I was a little busy running around out of town in Chicago for my latest Street Meet with The Hundreds. There was a lack of updates on my trip since I grabbed the wrong hard drive when heading out the door. So to make up for the absence of new content I figured I would share a new photo set of Nicole Mejia. This set was done at a location I had rented out in Miami. I remember this set being towards the end of our day and if you have ever shot in Miami you know the light is so beautiful when getting close to sunset. Given I love shooting natural light I used this to my benefit when snapping with Nicole. I felt her outfit worked out perfect for the lighting condition we found ourselves in. I think it is save to say you just might agree.

I have been a little swamped with catching up from my trip to Hawaii this week but I am starting to get back into the swing of things. Since I am feeling great about this weekend I thought it was only right to post a photo set I was equally excited about shooting. The images I am referring to are from when I shot with Nicole Mejia out at Stiltsville in Miami. My friend Mayleen had put me onto this location a year or so ago. The problem is you need a boat of some type to make it out to these locations.

The weekend is right around the corner and I am sure most of you can’t wait to go out and do what you wanna do. To keep your spirits up I thought I would post a new set of photos with Nicole Mejia. This was shot on my most recent visit to Miami. She had this cool burgundy colored bra and panty set that looked amazing on her. Fortunately the room I had was equipped with a sort of day desk area that had a vintage feel to it. I knew immediately it was going to be the backdrop for this shoot. Now if you have been following me for the past year or so then you know know by now that I always love having a opportunity to shoot with Nicole. If you have seen our prior work then I don’t think there is more that I need to say other then check below to see what we came up with. It is always fun when you can find a unique location to shoot with a model at. To me this is something outdoors and maybe not too many people have hit it. But sometimes just due to traveling and scheduling you are not always able to get around to such a backdrop. Especially if you are a one man crew. Sometimes I have to make use of the hotel rooms I stay in as the studios for my shoots when away from home. Now Nicole and I have had the opportunity to shoot at a few rad settings. So when we decided to link up while I was staying at the Four Seasons in Miami I felt shooting in my suite wouldn’t hurt. This was the first set of the day and I liked the setting of the master bedroom. I felt it went well with the outfit she chose to wear. A crop top,some panties and socks. It kinda had that comfy at home feel.

I constantly keep an eye out for textures. When shooting on location they can be pretty clutch when breaking up photo sets. Especially for someone like myself who does 3-4 different looks per shoot. So when I was in Miami shooting with Nicole Mejia the exterior of this barn caught my eye. Being that this day in particular was a heavy day of photographs I thought it would be great to utilize this backdrop with her wearing this cool light blue button up shirt along with some blue bottoms. I felt the lighting during this was great along with everything else in the whole setting. Peep the images below for yourself and remember you can make the most of any setting. Just have to be aware of your surroundings!

It is always fun to switch up the vibe of a shoot with a model. To flip the wardrobe a bit and present something not of her daily setting. Now we all know Nicole Mejia is an amazing fitness personality. Not only motivating but also inspiring. Showing people it the importance of health but more importantly that you should always love yourself for who you are. These are just a few of the elements that make Nicole amazing in my eyes.

So while out in Miami shooting with her we decided to switch things up and bring out her sexier side. She had brought this amazing two piece set that looked beautiful on her. After she threw on her heels we were good to go. The end result was something I loved and shows the importance of having a great photographer/model relationship. It makes the ability to link up and create that much more fun. Hope you all enjoy the flicks and have a great weekend! Stay up.

Surprisingly L.A. has been having great rainfall this winter. Believe me I am not complaining, the good state of California has been needing this for awhile. But I couldn’t help but think about a shoot I did with Nicole Mejia in the rain while out on a trip to Miami a couple of years back.

Since I have been using the current V/SUAL blog as a way to showcase some of my older works it seemed like a good time to Re-Issue this set I did with Nicole. To this day it remains one of my favorite shoots. I think a lot of it had to do with the spontaneous moment where we decided to shoot this since our original idea literally got rained out. Sometimes you gotta follow your instinct. Enjoy!

I don’t know about the rest of you but I am loving this wave of women embracing health and fitness. Photos of girls in athletic wear have always caught my eye. So while out in Miami I decided to do photo shoot with my good friend Nicole Mejia. I mean if I was going to go through with this themed shoot I wanted it to be with someone who lives and breaths fitness. Her and I linked up at the hotel I was staying at to do this shoot. Unfortunately for us there was a storm coming in so I couldn’t even hit the locations I wanted to. Rather we stuck it out on the top floor of the my hotel that had this awesome covered white area.
